Spotlight & Review: Biker's Librarian by Shyla Colt

Biker's Librarian
by Shyla Colt
Genre: Biker Romance

Lords of Mayhem, Book 1

Good girl. Bookworm. Wallflower. Juliette’s been called all of them, and never protested. But every now and then she wants to be daring and adventurous and sexy. A night out with the girls presents just the opportunity Juliette’s been looking for.

Undeniably sexy, Shooter hits all of Juliette’s hot buttons—and as a member of a local biker gang, rings more than a few of her warning bells.

One scorching-hot night of sex has Juliette coming back for more. Shooter is everything she’s ever daydreamed about. Before she realizes it, Juliette’s in deep. Having hot, exciting sex is one thing, but falling in love is something else entirely and an experience Juliette isn’t sure she wants. But Shooter isn’t the only dangerous man in Juliette’s life. As the past comes rushing back to haunt her and the future starts to turn dark, Juliette has to choose—fall back into old habits or trust her heart and the man who holds it.

My Review:
This was a relatively fast read with some suspense and sexiness. I liked it for the most part.
I really liked Juliette. She realized that she was just going about her days and not really living. She had been hurt deeply and traumatized by her ex so she kind of just hid herself away and she doesn't want to feel like a victim anymore. At times I thought she over reacted but I could understand that she didn't want to be under anyone's control.
I adored Shooter. He has his rough spots but he's overall a great guy. He was burned too by his family and ex and doesn't want to get close to any females anymore but Juliette gets under his skin and he realizes that she's different. I love how protective he is of her and that he was very upfront that he was serious about her and there would be no fooling around. She was his.
My complaints were that the timeline sometimes got a bit confusing and I wish that the storyline with Juliette's ex had been a bit more drawn out and resolved better. It was very rushed.
I do really like the authors writing style and her MC characters are a lot of fun. I've enjoyed what I've read from her so far and look forward to more in the future.

Shyla Colt grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, but has lived a variety of different places thanks to her wanderlust, interesting careers, and marriage to a United States Marine. She's always loved books and wrote her very first novel at the age of fifteen. She keeps a copy of her first submission letter on her desk for inspiration.

After a lifetime of traveling, she settled down and knew her time had come to write. Diving into her new career like she does everything else, with enthusiasm, research and a lot of prayers, she had her first book published in June of 2011. As a full-time writer, stay at home mother, and wife, there's never a dull moment in her household.

She weaves her tales in spare moments and the evenings with a cup of coffee or tea at her side and the characters in her head for company. A self-professed rebel with a pen. Her goal is to diversify romance as she continues to genre hop, and offer up strong female characters.
